To receive this OLEV funding, you will need:
  • To provide evidence of ownership of, or access to, a plug-in vehicle in order to be able to qualify for the goverments subsidised funding scheme
  • Off-Street parking
  • Suitability of the proposed site for the installation services (the surveyor will advise on this)
  • Permission from the homeowner or landlord if you don’t own the property
  • If the Charging Point is to be located in a garage, the garage must be physically attached to the main building unless it has its own power supply with sufficient capacity to support your 16 amp or 32 amp rated charger

What is “Standard Installation”?
  • The chosen WallPod Charge Point
  • A maximum run of 10 metres from the source of supply (consumer unit) to charge point (not including external containment or steel wire armour (SWA))
  • The property’s consumer unit must be RCD protected and have a spare way for protecting the outgoing charge point circuit
  • Cable to be surface mounted – clipped direct
  • No ground works
  • The property must have an earthing arrangement complying with current regulations
  • The charge point must be fixed to the main property and able to utilise the properties earthing arrangement
  • The property is within 75 miles (150 miles round trip) of an approved installer or their satellite installer
  • The homeowner must comply with all current OLEV Domestic Scheme Terms and Conditions (see OLEV Website)

Potential additional costs

The following information provides a guideline of work that is considered to be beyond the standard installation specification:

  • Cable runs exceeding 10 metres (chargeable per metre thereafter)
  • The necessity to install a mini consumer unit c/w overload and fault current protection due to:
    • a) the properties consumer unit having insufficient capacity/protection for the charge point circuit
    • b) the homeowner wishing to have an independent charge point circuit protection from the house consumer unit
  • Any additional mechanical protection required for the cabling, i.e. trunking, conduit, etc.
  • Any cable chasing requested by the homeowner
  • Any ground works requested by the homeowner
  • The necessity to introduce an alternative earthing system, i.e. an electrode/inspection chamber
  • The property being farther away than 75 miles (150 miles round trip) from an improved installer or their satellite installer’s base
  • Any additional or unusual works requested by the homeowner in order for the install to take place, i.e. gas and water pipe bonding, equipment clearing, plumbing work etc.
